Levi Oyster & Sarah Glaser: Joint Show at Wild Scoops Creamery (2021)
In the fall of 2021, I had the pleasure of showing alongside fellow Alaskan artist Sarah Glaser at Wild Scoops Creamery in Midtown Anchorage. Wild Scoops is a local microcreamery known for handcrafted small-batch ice cream made with Alaskan ingredients — a spot where creativity and community come together naturally. It turned out to be a fitting home for art.
The show was packrafting-inspired. Sarah and I are both born-and-raised Alaskans who arrived at the water through very different paths. Sarah's pieces combined digital and acrylic painting, rooted in her experience illustrating The Packraft Handbook. You can find more of her work at https://www.glacierlines.com/. My pieces were oil on acrylic bases, built from memories on the water — fear, laughter, terror, tranquility, and the landscapes that stay with you long after you've dried off.
It was a show I'm proud to have been part of.
